The Living Statue

A short film about two feuding Living Statues and the territorial conflict that ensues.

This was my second film and the very first one made with a student crew. I definitely have conflicted feelings about this. On the one hand, I loved the cast that we got for it and I am quite proud of the Pixar-Esque script that I wrote for it.

But boy, oh boy, did I learn a thing or two about a thing or two on this film. One of the biggest lessons I learned was to not fight the weather 😬

I was SOOOOO wanting this to be a sunny, summery kind of story. But we faced heavy rain pretty much every day of the shoot. Instead of embracing it and developing it into the story, I tried to ignore it and just keep rolling. It just made everything so much more difficult.

At the same time, this one film is what got me my break on the fully budgeted Bridge Station short film a couple of years later ⭐️
